The Pyxis CR-Series LPR corrosion rate sensor provide real-time monitoring of general and localized corrosion, offering a reliable and efficient alternative to traditional corrosion coupons. Utilizing the Linear Polarization Resistance (LPR) method, these sensors deliver immediate corrosion rate measurements in Mils-Per-Year (MPY) and are especially effective in cooling and process water treatment systems. Unlike corrosion coupons, which require extended exposure times, CR-Series sensors provide instantaneous feedback, allowing for faster performance assessment and system adjustments. The sensors also integrate electrochemical noise analysis to evaluate pitting and localized corrosion, offering a more comprehensive corrosion profile. The Pyxis CR-Series sensors include two models: the CR-200, a battery-powered, Bluetooth-enabled portable unit with onboard data storage; and the CR-300, a 24V DC-powered sensor that outputs both 4-20mA and RS-485 Modbus signals. Both sensors are engineered to minimize signal degradation by conditioning and digitizing signals at the source, eliminating the need for external transmitters or long-distance wiring. Additionally, built-in conductivity compensation (up to 10,000 μS/cm) ensures accurate readings across varying water qualities. The CR-Series sensors are housed in durable 304 stainless steel enclosures, rated to IP65, and capable of operating in temperatures ranging from -14 to 122 ºF under working conditions.
